An agile and automated replenishment process: Messika transforms its retail planning with OneHive
A tailor-made Anaplan application for unified, scalable and responsive replenishment
As a fast-growing luxury jewellery house, Messika needed to strengthen the performance of its retail network in a context of rapid international expansion, high unit value products and strong availability requirements.
Historically managed through complex and time-consuming Excel files, the replenishment process lacked agility, visibility and robustness.
OneHive supported Messika in designing and implementing a replenishment application on Anaplan, unifying data, standardising business rules and involving local markets in operational decision-making to improve collaboration and responsiveness.
After designing and deploying the application on a first pilot market within three months, the solution was progressively rolled out across all markets in less than four months, ensuring rapid and consistent adoption by local teams.
An MVP approach to deliver value quickly on Anaplan
We supported Messika with a clear objective: deliver essential value as early as possible.
Our Supply Chain experts were involved from the scoping phase to structure business requirements and secure functional and technical design choices. Priority features were delivered in an initial MVP release, enabling a fast go-live.
From this first phase onward, Messika’s internal Model Builders were trained and actively involved in building the model, contributing to subsequent releases. This collaborative approach enabled a gradual skills ramp-up, making Messika largely autonomous today in supporting and evolving the application.
Agile delivery to secure timelines and budget
End-to-end support from scoping to go-live
The scoping phase defined the application objectives, key process steps and the core principles of the algorithms. This groundwork facilitated detailed design, particularly around replenishment rules, inter-store transfers and interfaces between ERP systems and Anaplan.
By structuring delivery around short, iterative sprints, OneHive secured on-time and on-budget delivery while maintaining a high level of functional quality.
A customized OneHive algorithm to optimize Messika’s replenishment
Leveraging Anaplan’s power for precise, consistent and high-performance replenishment
To address Messika’s specific requirements, OneHive designed and implemented a bespoke replenishment algorithm that mirrors a merchandiser’s reasoning. The calculation iterates through each model, identifies the store with the highest demand, then selects the most relevant colour and size.
This step-by-step logic prioritises needs where they create the most value, limits manual arbitrations and ensures fine-grained, consistent distribution across the network. Thanks to Anaplan’s calculation power, the entire catalogue is processed in just a few seconds.
User experience and ergonomics supporting decision-making
Enabling fast, reliable and shared decisions
In the luxury jewellery sector, ergonomics are critical to securing decision-making. The application provides a clear, actionable view of the store network, avoiding indicator overload.
Advanced filters and visual alerts allow users to quickly prioritise actions, while adaptive views facilitate navigation across different scopes. The objective: make confident decisions quickly in a data-rich environment.
Tangible results driving retail performance
A widely adopted application delivering sustainable value
Progressively deployed and co-built with the teams, the replenishment application is now used daily by Merchandising and Supply Chain teams. It provides consolidated visibility on stocks, needs and network priorities, while streamlining collaboration between central teams and local markets. Decisions are faster, better aligned and more robust.
